Family Activities
The 2023 Central States VHF Society Conference is pleased to offer the following family activities and tours during the event.
Thursday, July 27
The Thursday night ball game and food at Dickey-Stephens Park.
Friday, July 28
The CSVHFS and Marlsgate Plantation invites you to join us for a Luncheon Tour from 11:30 – 2:00 that includes lunch, a tour of the main house, P. Allen Smith's gardens, the all-glass Conservatory, and the 1888 Carriage House.
Marlsgate Plantation is an historic house near Scott, Arkansas. It is the only plantation home in Arkansas that is fully furnished in the antebellum period style and available for tours and private events.
The house and parts of the plantation were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The original plantation property, totaling 1,600 acres and eventually expanded to over 7,000 acres with cotton, rice, corn and soy beans under cultivation. The Dortch plantation complex includes four distinct gardens designed by the Arkansas garden designer P. Allen Smith.
Bus transportation will be provided from the conference hotel and back.
Saturday, July 29
Plan your own excursion! No formal activity is being organized; however Little Rock offers a variety of activities and venues so Saturday will be a day for you to plan your own activity with friends or by yourself. Information will be provided and options to select include:

- Little Rock Central High School National
- Museum of Discovery
- Old Statehouse Museum
- Clinton Presidential Library
- Little Rock Quapaw Quarter
