Welcome to Cedar Rapids, Iowa!
On behalf of the Central States VHF Society, please accept our invitation for you and your family to attend the 56th CSVHFS Conference.
The last time we convened in Iowa was for the 46th conference in Cedar Rapids in 2012. The Central States VHF Society has continued to be the leader in promoting and presenting advancements in operating bands 50 MHz and above.
The 2024 conference will be held July 25-28 at the soon to be announced hotel in Cedar Rapids. Unlike a traditional hamfest, the conference provides technical presentations, workshops, and test facilities to allow you to improve your station and on-the-air experience. The presenters and attendees are among the most recognized and highly experienced radio amateurs within the VHF and above ranks. You have an opportunity to spend time with them over the course of the conference.
Activities include technical presentations, antenna range, noise figure lab, rover row, dish bowl, a Thursday evening social activity, Friday evening trade-fest, equipment dealers, hospitality suite for evening socializing, fun family activities, and a closing banquet with a guest speaker and a prize table.
The family program starts with a pool party at the hotel. Friday activities include the Czech and Slovak Museum and Brucemore Mansion. Saturday is a visit to the Amana Colonies.
Cedar Rapids is conveniently located in Northeastern Iowa near the intersection of U.S. Highway 30, I-380, and I-80 and is less than 5 hours driving time from Kansas City, Omaha, Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Madison, Chicago, Saint Louis, and Des Moines, and many other points. The Eastern Iowa Airport also provides convenient flights from across the country with direct access to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angelos, Nashville, Orlando, Phoenix, Saint Paul, Saint Petersburg, Washington D.C., and many more. The hotel provides a courtesy shuttle and is less than 10 mins from the airport.
